Quilting Mod Challenge #1

A couple months ago, I issued a challenge to my readers to create a project using Art Gallery Fabrics Round Elements and link up the first week on October. Seven challengers unveiled a broad assortment of beautiful projects. You can see their process shots on social media at the #QMChallenge hashtag.
Melanie of Mostly Crafty is a pro at making flying geese! She used the Heading South pattern by Material Girl Quilts to make a beautiful quilt. It has the perfect backing too! I think it could function in summer too; just turn it upside down, and call it Heading North.
Jayne from Twiggy and Opal made Get to the Point, a wall-hanging incorporating her free Star Thistle pattern. The geometric quilting compliments the paper-piecing so nicely.
Renee of Quilts of a Feather made Curvy Clutches using the free pattern from Pink Door Fabrics for some appreciated teachers. As a teacher turned stay-at-home-mom, I think this is an awesome gesture.
Betty Cruikshank at Sew What Now made a quilted jacket for one very lucky four year old great granddaughter. I admire this project greatly, as I have very limited apparel-making experience, and an almost four-year-old daughter who would adore such a jacket, if only her mom had Betty's sewist skills.

Sharon at Yellowcat Quilt Designs multi-tasked on the challenge, using blocks from Tula Pink's 100 Modern Quilt Blocks she made as part of the #100Day100Block Challenge with the Shadow Block Mini Quilt pattern from Studio Dragonfly to make this gorgeous quilt.
This table runner was created by Connie of FreeMotion by the River using her Piano Keys pattern, which is available for purchase on Craftsy.
Susan of Super Mom No Cape made a tissue box cover and an adorable Halloween treat bag.
You can check out all the great projects by clicking through the linky below:

I had mentioned some prizes. Jayne and Susan won a rainbow bundle of fat quarters.
Betty won a prize bundle featuring all these goodies.
Thanks to all who participated. I enjoyed the wide variety of inspirational projects, and was impressed by each and every one of you!

  8. It's been such a busy week that I just now saw this! Thanks so much for hosting the challenge! Everyone made such lovely things.

I had one more item finished but didn't get a post written for it in time to enter it into the challenge. I'll be working on that post this weekend if life settles down a bit. :)

Thank you for the great prize!
