A Quilty Miracle

You may remember the disfunctional assortment of quilt blocks my Modern Quilt Guild created in this post. I couldn't imagine how they were going to morph into something raffleable.

Well, by golly, the amazing geniuses deserve much credit. They actually made it work! If you are local, hurry and go buy tickets.

Modern Mini

This is my Modern Mini for the Ellison Lane Challenge.

I used Elizabeth Brandt's work, seen below, as a source of inspiration.

I doubt she intended her quilt to feature funny little people with hatchet-shaped heads. I suspect that is my personal interpretation. I like the effect regardless. Therefore, I did some semi-improvisational piecing with the aim of using the shapes to form a quirky person of sorts.

One Cutie Ballerina

It may not have escaped your notice that this is not a modern quilt -- or even a quilt at all. But I did make it, meaning the tutu and headband. Actually I made the kiddo too, but her adorable ballerina attire is the more recent accomplishment to which I am referring. With a deconstructed plastic plant, tulle, some cheap satinish material from Joann's, thread, a button, and ribbon this lovely ensemble was pulled together. I think Linnea, my little one, likes it. Don't you think?
